heads up ‘tunes – iTunes Extension App

I love iTunes, I never really turn it off, its on practically all the time. The one thing I find slightly annoying is the fact that you can’t really see what songs are coming next, unless you use Party Shuffle. This is where heads up ‘tunes comes into play. Its a small application which shows you which two songs are coming up next.

Heads Up

This application is simple, it comprises of a small window which floats on top (and blends in) and a dock icon which will change to your current album. It is designed to be more of functional little widget that you can use to see what tune is coming next and the one currently playing.

The app works in any play list although will show incorrect data if you have a shuffle for your iTunes library and not party shuffle, this is because the next tune is loaded once the one you are listening ends, as a result you can’t predict what is coming next.

The app doesn’t have hundreds of features but does have some nice touches. For example it will change what is being displayed as you re-size it.

Conclusion

Try this application out. Its free to download and use. There are some niggles with it, for example it slows down iTunes a little bit when you switch tunes. As well as this I would like to see a feature when you click on an upcoming item it will play that song, also the abilty to hide the dock icon, since its another icon to add to my already full dock.
