Bokeh – Focus In On Applications 0
Tool
Mac’s and PC’s have a lot of background noise. By background noise I mean all of the small apps in your menu and dock that take up just a tiny bit a CPU power. Together they can slow your computer down. If you are running a big render in Photoshop or a Video Application having that extra 10% CPU can really make the different. This is where Bokeh comes into play. It is designed to zero out applications and let you run programs using as much CPU as possible.
Zoning Out
Bokeh runs from the menu bar. It has two major functions. Freezing background applications or freezing every application but the one you are running. When an app is frozen it does not access the CPU. This means that you can utilize more CPU for other applications.
Its really interesting. Its not for the everyday user I don’t think. You will probably only need it if you are short on CPU and you need to squeeze just that little bit more out of it. One cool feature about this application is that when you focus only on one app every other one becomes blurred. A neat little feature.
Conclusion
Like I have mentioned this application is useful to the power use, but the price tag of $17 is a little high. But if you regularly use Photoshop or similar those extra minutes you save will add up. Its probably the most useful to a user who has a massive render lasting hours. You will also be less likely for it to be interupted by other applications.
