This little application, Fresh, that I am going to review to today is one of those applications that you will think you will never need. However after using it for about half a day its already one that I could see myself using more and more. In a nutshell it is designed so you can quickly access previously used files and a place to store files you want to access quickly. Although there are other applications out there that can do things like this, I have never seen it pulled off so well, as well as this if you don’t have any of the other applications, this is a good bet.

Keeping Things Fresh

As I have previously stated, this application is simple to use. It comprises of a full screen overlay activated by a hot key, plus a side of the screen widget. In this overlay the top half of the screen is the files you have used recently. You can then drag and drop, open and use these files as you would in Finder. The bottom half is a “Cooler” this is a drop box which you use to keep handy tabs on files you may use recently.

You add files to the cooler by dragging them onto the side of the screen widget, or onto the dock icon. They will then be added into the program. One bonus feature of this app is that you can add tags so you can find files more easily when you have built up a small collection of files.

There are lots other little features that are included in the app, I wont go into much detail. Some of the other features include, blocking files and being able to navigate and use files quicker. To find the full range of features its best to play with the app and find out yourself.

Conclusion

I like this app, its well built and looks pretty. However I feel that other applications, if you have them already will do a pretty good job, although if you don’t have anything similar this is a pretty good by. Its around $9 so its a real bargin.
