img2icns – Making Icons Cannot Get Any Simpler 2
Tool
Hey
Sorry for the lack of posts over the last couple of days. Uni has been really busy and I had no time at all to do anything. If you are not a follower of my main site Mac Tricks And Tips, I have two weeks off an have plenty of time for posts. The first one is going to of a small but very useful program called img2icns. Its designed to take any image and process into an icon for folders, applications iphones and favicons. On the face of it, it isn’t that useful, but after a good ten minutes playing you will probably customize all of your folders.
Turn Images To Icons
This app is simple to use and beautifully designed. It comprises of two steps. Drag and drop your image into the drop box, then click which type of icon you want to produce. There are lots of helpful pop-out bubbles which give you lots of tips for using the application more efficently.
For instance when you press the folder icon on the right hand side of the image above it will produce an empty folder with your custom icon. Although you could do this yourself it doesn’t take two seconds to run it though this app.
There are two verisons for this application, free and pro. The pro version unlocks the iPhone and favicon icons when using the application.
Conclusion
This application is pretty good. Its also realatively cheap. There could be a couple improvements to this application, such as the ability to add custom sizes if you want to make icons for external applications. However this may be out of the scope of the app. As usual, download the app and try it out. It may be something you find useful.
